BRAZILIAN NEUROSURGERY AT MARC - 2018
NOVEMBER 25-27, 2018
MIAMI, FL - USA
THEORETICAL-PRACTICAL COURSE OF MINIMALLY INVASIVE 360º APPROACHES TO THE SKULL BASE
TRANSCRANIAL OPEN AND ENDONASAL PERSPECTIVES.
Under the leadership of Dr. Caetano Coimbra, the minimally invasive 360° cranial base surgical approaches have been used and refined at the Baylor University Medical Center (Texas) Skull Base Surgery Center, associated with the concept of extradural dissection of this region, allowing the creation of short and free surgical corridors, restricting the direct manipulation of brain tissue.
The course will aim, whenever possible, to discuss critically and based on clinical cases, the different options of surgical access to the base of the skull. Renowned surgeons were selected with great individual experience in the various pathologies addressed.
It will occur in three days, consisting of a day of theoretical discussions based on clinical cases, and two days for dissections in fresh frozen specimens of the approaches and concepts previously discussed.
